The existence of the headset was revealed in a video unveiled by Nissan at this year’s Frankfurt Auto Show. Details of the Nissan 3E are scarce.
The video has no dialogue. From the video, it appears to be some form of wearable heads-up display. While there was no information on its use, it makes sense to display information like navigation, speed and so on.
Unlike Google Glass, the Nissan 3E has the majority of its bulk on the left hand side of the user’s head.
The device was also on show at the event. However, it was locked in a glass case and was not powered.
Nissan’s 3E isn’t the first wearable technology device to be unveiled by the car maker. Earlier this year, it took the wraps off its own smartwatch, the Nismo.
It also raises questions about the legality of using such devices while driving. Last month, a Californian woman received a fine for using her Google Glass headset while driving.
